Welcome to Leia's CreationsLeia's Creations is the entrepreneurial debut of Leia, a 12 year old homeschooler with dreams of running her own business. What started with her love of rockhounding and crafting has turned into a creative endeavour helped along by her mom. The joy of finding these gifts in the earth has kept us hounding for years, making many special memories for us.
As the rocks have added up (much to hubby's dismay....."What? More rocks???") Leia had the idea to share her finds with friends by making them into jewelry. And BAM! An entrepreneur was born (or was it born from the desire NOT to shovel snow as her first job like her older brother.....) Her ideas and products have evolved since those first pendants and bracelets.
We now take various minerals and crystals that we dig up (some are also now traded for or bought to keep up with our volume) and turn them into beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry and home decor items made from the heart. Some minerals are used raw, others we tumble for a more polished finish. This has also served as Business 101 in our homeschool curriculum, learning all about costs and margins and responsibility of making quality products for fair prices.
